First Day of Kindergarten

Today was Cheyenne's first day of Kindergarten. Cheyenne was very enthusiastic and eager for school, and did a great job of getting on the bus cheerfully. I did a great job of not crying until the bus had pulled away.

Marilla, walking down the stairs like a big girl, as we all trooped outside to wait for the bus.

Three kids, waiting. Elliott had to have his backpack on, too.

This is what they looked like last year, for Cheyenne's first day of UPK. There's been change in all of them!

What a gorgeous Big Girl!

Daddy did a night job last night, but he got out of bed in time to watch Cheyenne go.

The Whites, Waiting.

Grandma and Grandpa were here for the night, too, so Cheyenne had lots of people to see her off. (Elliott sorta likes Grandpa Dana, as you can tell in this picture. There's a major squeeze hug going on there!)

Walking Cheyenne across the street in front of the bus.

That's her little head, about to sit down in the first seat! Dylan, a boy who was in her Pre-K class last year, said "Hello!" to her as she got on, so there was a familiar face!

It will be almost four o'clock by the time Cheyenne gets home. It's hard to believe that such a major chunk of her day is away from me!

I will hopefully be posting pictures of our wonderful weekend here soon, but here's the gist of it all, composed in Scrabble letters by Olivia. It was a great weekend to start the school year off on a happy note!
